New Delhi, July 31^st 2021 – The Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI), the largest association of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists of India, organized a walk in the city to raise awareness on the subject of ‘violence against women’.

The walk flagged off at the FOGSI FUNFERENCE 2021, a hybrid event with over 200 delegates present physically observing COVID protocol at Park Plaza hotel in Aero city. Nearly 3,000 participants also joined the event virtually.

The awareness walk was FOGSI’s latest initiative to raise its voice against abuse and violence that women face. It is part of a larger ongoing “Dheera” campaign which was incepted in 2016 by the current FOGSI President, Dr. Shantha Kumari. Dr Shantha has been driving the campaign aimed at driving gender equality and neutrality.

Earlier in December 2020, a 16 days campaign against Gender-based Violence was launched by the UN with the theme ‘Orange the World’.
